Wild Bison enters human habitat at Belagavi, died despite treatment

Karnataka (Belagavi): A Wild Bison has appeared in the residential area at Gudihal village in Belagavi tahsil of Belagavi district in Karnataka state. The wild bison which came from the forests of Khanapur has been seen near the village for two days. The villagers were scared of the appearance of wild bison.

However, the bison was not seen as aggressive and found suffering from some disease. It could not able to make the movement as healthy bison. But, still, villagers were scared to go near to see what happened to it.

After some veterinary doctors checked it, they claimed that the bison is suffering by aging health problems. It unable to make movements as its visibility has gone. The bison had sustained injuries by hitting its head to the walls in the village. Then after, fallen at one place.

Meanwhile, the forest officials treated the bison. But, it stopped eating the grass and fodder. Despite all the efforts made to save it, the bison died on Saturday. (July 10).

The khanapur taluk in Belagavi district is having large areas of forests and also has Bhimgad reserved forests. This reserved forest is home to wild bison, tigers, black panthers, leopards, civet cats, Malabar giant squirrels, deers, sloth bears, wild boars, and various other wildlife.
