Racket involved in smuggling 170 rare turtle’s busted in Bengaluru

Bengaluru (Karnataka): In a major swift action, the Bengaluru police has succeeded in cracking down a racket involved in smuggling the rare 170 star turtle’s at ‘Kalasi Palya police station limits in Bengaluru.

The accused were transporting the star turtle’s in a bag from private bus stand near the city market. Now the turtle’s have been rescued and sent to Bannerghatta biological national park in Bengaluru.

The accused have been produced before the court and sent to judicial custody. It is also said that the accused have confessed that they were smuggling the rare star turtles to abroad via Pune, Mumbai, Kolkata.
