Nagpur in Maharashtra to get African Wildlife Safari soon

How if you get a chance to experience Cheetahs surrounding your vehicle, Running a herd of Zebras, Giraffe’s near you and Lion roaring exactly in front of you and witness other African wildlives living in your own India. Yes, it is possible in India itself as Nagpur in Maharashtra is all set to get its kind African wildlife safari soon.

The government of Maharashtra has announced the African wildlife Safari project at Balasaheb Thackeray Gorewada International Zoo, one of the largest captive zoo safari in India. Spending a budget of Rs 100 crore in the year 2022-23, the project which is second biggest in the world will be undertaken soon. As part of this project, wildlife from the African continent will be brought to this zoo.

Besides this, in an objective to conserve the biodiversity in the state, Maharashtra government is developing a Leopard Safari in 90 hectare forest land in Pune by spending Rs 60 crore. A Tiger Safari and wildlife rescue centre in 171 hectare forest land in Chandrapur district and to establish a Maharashtra Gene Bank Project over the next five years by spending Rs 286 crore. All these activities are to conserve the biodiversity in the state.
