Three poachers arrested for hunting wild rabbits

Karnataka: The Karnataka forest department officials chased and arrested three poachers who were pouching animals in the Kittur forest areas of the Golihalli forest range in the Belagavi sub-division in Karnataka on Tuesday (6 July).

The forest officials arrested Basavaraj Lakkappa Borimarad (35), Durgappa Baramappa Borimarad (26), and Satyappa Yallappa Budari (50) all the residents of the Karikatti village in Belagavi taluk of Karnataka. According to the forest officials, These three had engaged in hunting wild rabbits, wild boar, deers as hobbies. The forest officials attacked these poachers and seized one rabbit, 48 explosives, two mobiles, and two bikes, and other materials used for the poaching.

Assistant Conservator of Forests of Nagargali range CG Mirji, Range Forest Officer of Golihalli range Shrinath Kadolkar, Deputy range forest officer Siddalingeshwar Magdum, staff Girish Mekked, Aziz Mulla, Pravin Dulappgola, Mohiddin Tahsildar, and others participated in the investigation.
